David Deacon
David has over 30 years’ experience in the wireless communications industry. He founded Etherstack in 2002 and has overseen its growth into operations in five countries around the world.
David’s vision of Etherstack was a company that developed and licensed the key technology building blocks that underpin mission critical wireless communications networks. He understood very early the importance of supporting and developing open standards-based technologies and how this would improve interoperability between different vendors equipment while at the same time providing operators with increased choice and competition.
Etherstack is the only wireless technology company to have developed TETRA, APCO P25, DMR and MCPTX technologies within the one engineering team. The company licenses implementations of its technologies to over 20 different wireless equipment manufacturers as well as developing and delivering its own end-to-end systems and solutions based on the company’s underlying building technology building blocks.
For the past two decades, David has been based primarily between Europe and North America where the majority of Etherstack clients reside, creating multiple regional offices for Etherstack to provide local support and services for its essential communications clients. The group undertakes R&D in Europe, Japan, United States and Australia.
