Anton Abrahams
Anton Willem Abrahams is a former Board director and Chairman of the Australasian Critical Communications Forum, a chapter of TCCA. He has over 40 years of global experience in the mobile radio industry starting with Philips in Australia followed by a number of years as Regional Director with the Philips Mobile Radio Management Group in the UK based in Cambridge and Singapore.
Following his time with Philips he worked as the Regional Director for Telecom Australia International (Telstra) establishing its South Asian joint ventures and was instrumental in establishing the first GSM cellular and satellite (VSAT) network operations in India and South Asia. He served as a board director of a number of South Asian Telstra joint ventures.
He returned to the LMR industry with his involvement in the creation of the Simoco brand, following the acquisition of the global Philips’ mobile radio business in the late nineties. He was Simoco’s Managing Director of its South Asia and Pacific operations for number of years. From there he joined U.S based ComNet Ericsson (M/A-Com) as its Regional Director for South Asia and Australia and General Manager of MCS Digital in Australia prior to his retirement.
Anton actively supports the Australasian Critical Communications Forum as a member, former Board director and Chairman and he is a recipient of the 2023 ICCA Award in recognition of his outstanding services to TCCA.
