New and disruptive technologies in emergency calling

16 May 2018      16.00-17.00

ETSI SC EMTEL recently started two work items, a technical specification covering core services and interfaces as well as a technical report considering NG emergency communication interoperability testing. The session will introduce these to the audience and give insights about new technologies like advanced mobile location (AML), location based emergency call routing, and VoLTE emergency calling. In this talk you will hear about how things work nicely together to improve emergency services like the Austrian Text-To-112 Pilot that implements standardized core services and a compatible smartphone chat app as open source. Such disruptive technologies open a broad range of new applications and capabilities in call taking and dispatching that will be addressed and discussed in this talk.

Key points/themes:
