As traditional public safety network users move into commercial services, what is the role for a dedicated service provider - business model, legal, governance? While commercial operators have by far the best knowledge of their LTE system, public safety demands and use cases are often alien to them. Role of a service operator for public safety is much more than ensuring the availability of the service, it is about understanding the critical communications use cases (public safety, transport, critical infrastructure) and provide support to the user organisations. The service operator functions as a mediator between the MNO and mission critical user giving them both a chance to focus on their core activities.
